About Kate
I’m a 7 time Emmy award winning journalist and the co-anchor of the #1 afternoon news program, NBC News Daily. You can find me anchoring every weekday from 2-4pm ET (11-1pm PT) by streaming the show live on NBC News Now. We’re also on your local NBC affiliate. NBC News Daily is a true NEWS show. It’s all about featuring the work of our NBC News correspondents with the top news headlines of the day and breaking news. I’m proud that we feature consumer-centric stories that impact viewer’s wallets and recurring segments about mental health, medical news and parenting. In 2025, NBC News Daily was proud to receive the Gracie Award for “Best News Program.”
Another big part of my life is telling stories as a Senior National Correspondent for NBC News. You can catch me across all NBC News platforms, including Nightly News, TODAY, Dateline NBC and NBC News Now programs. Find a selection of recent stories under the Reporting tab.
I’m probably best known for insightful stories that make an impact and touch on some element of the human condition. I regularly report on mental health, the treatment of women and children, sexual assault or abuse, domestic violence, substance use and the impact of screens and social media on kids.
My work has been honored with seven Emmys for breaking news coverage, investigations and projects. In 2019, I won an Emmy for my exclusive interview with Andrea Constand, who broke her 13-year silence about Bill Cosby. That Dateline hour followed my 2015 Dateline special with 27 Bill Cosby accusers in one room, which also won both Emmy and duPont awards. My 2015 series about transgender children was called a "phenomenon," as millions of people watched a video about 5-year-old Jacob that went viral on social media, and millions more watched stories on Nightly News and TODAY. In my Emmy-winning 2014 series, "Hooked: America's Heroin Epidemic," I tried to put a human face on a public health crisis. It prompted congressional hearings and legislative action, as did my investigation into group youth homes and the hour-long documentary “Children That Pay”. My work has also been recognized with an award from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
After reporting on so many heavy topics, I wanted to have a little fun too! I created a digital video series and podcast called “The Drink with Kate Snow” in 2017. I sit down with celebrities, innovators and influencers over a drink of their choice and we talk about how they made it to the top. Each month we publish both a video episode at nbcnews.com/thedrink and a longer podcast. You can find that wherever you get your podcasts. See The Drink tab for a selection of episodes!
Dateline fan? You may know me as a host of Dateline: Secrets Uncovered on Oxygen and for the many hours of Dateline I reported in my earlier years at NBC. I also anchored the Sunday edition of NBC Nightly News for more than 8 years.
I’ve also covered politics throughout my career, including seven presidential elections, the White House and Congress. I’ve interviewed so many people I’ve lost track— from Barack Obama to Michael Phelps; Demi Lovato to Bono. And here’s a secret… the people I remember most are not the famous ones. I remember walking through a devastated school in Moore Oklahoma with a teacher who lost students. I remember interviewing a mom who lost her 10 year old to suicide. I remember the little girl who saved 3 others with organ donation. The compassionate people who help others are the true heroes I’ve met.
I joined NBC News in 2010. But before that, I was the anchor of the weekend edition of ABC's Good Morning America and a political reporter for ABC News for six years. I started at ABC as a White House correspondent. Prior to that, I was a Congressional Correspondent for CNN. I got my start on TV at KOAT in Carlsbad, then Roswell, then Albuquerque, New Mexico.
I am the wife of radio host and Substack writer Chris Bro and a very proud mom of my two grown children. I graduated from Cornell University with a Communication BS and have a Master's from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.
I work closely with many charitable organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters and AFSP.
You can also catch me singing with a band & find my music on Spotify, Apple or wherever you find music. See the My Music page for more!
